The project takes influence from the myth of Narcissus, in which the boy sees his reflection in the water and falls in love with it until his death. The concept of mirrored images transcribes to that of figure versus reflection, apparent versus distorted; furthermore, considering programs for extroverts versus introverts, the social versus the antisocial. "Doubling" takes the follies on the roof of Unité d'Habitation and reflects them beneath the rooftop slab, bringing new (and old) program into the building. Above the slab holds programs for the social while under it holds those for the antisocial. The reflected interiorities are formally distorted mirrored images of their figures above.
