The Welcome Center was developed from an organization of programs into pavilion-like structures varying in floor-to-floor heights in relation to function. The overall form is draped by a translucent shroud in forms of an undulating roof and a meshed secondary skin. A variegated elevation is created as to exaggerate the sense of a city cluster in miniature form. Multiple scales of atria emerge from staggered floor heights. A diversity of structural expression is created while varying the transparency and translucency of the tectonic fog. Ultimately, a sense of gateway portals is created by the shroud over this city within a city.
